GAITHERSBURG, Md., April 21, 2008 - Reinforcing its status as an employer of choice, Sodexo, a leading foodservice and facilities management company, was recently named “Best Diversity Program” at the Annual ERE Media, Inc. Recruitment Excellence Awards Ceremony. ERE Media, Inc. is a preeminent association of leading professionals in the field of talent acquisition and retention. Sodexo was recognized for its best in class diversity recruitment program that is characterized by exemplary executive level commitment to diversity, careful alignment of company business imperatives with performance goals, aggressive targets, innovative sourcing and branding, and measureable results.
According to ERE, Sodexo demonstrated extraordinary results through innovative and targeted sourcing and branding strategies. Ninety-one percent of candidate slates included interviews with diverse individuals. This resulted in a 38% increase in qualified ethnically and racially diverse candidates and a 32% increase in qualified female candidates. ERE was also impressed by the way Sodexo tracks and measures outcomes through a corporate-wide scorecard that reports on quantitative and qualitative measures of success. The qualitative measures look at behaviors that lead to building diversity, while quantitative measures focus on enumerating talent acquisition, development, promotion and retention.
Sodexo's success in leveraging the strength of its diverse workforce is demonstrated through its many awards and recognition - more than 25 earned in 2007 and seven so far in 2008.
Dr. John Sullivan, an ERE awards judge, said "Sodexo has worked hard over the past few years to excel in all areas of recruiting and talent management, and its work with regards to attracting, developing, and retaining diverse talent is the best I've ever seen anywhere in the world." Dr. Sullivan is Professor of Management in San Francisco University's College of Business.
