GAITHERSBURG, Md., March 12, 2009 — Sodexo Senior Vice President and Global Chief Diversity Officer Dr. Rohini Anand will receive the highly coveted Maryland International Business Leadership Award during a ceremony this evening at the Jim Rouse Visionary Center in Baltimore, Maryland. The annual honor is sponsored by the World Trade Center Institute, a nonprofit business networking membership organization. It is given to global leaders who demonstrate creativity and success in international business.

Dr. Anand was chosen for her leadership in advancing diversity and inclusion on a global level. In many of the 80 countries where Sodexo operates, Dr. Anand has established strategies to develop an inclusive environment.  Her creativity has lead to strong partnerships and unique initiatives that influence every aspect of Sodexo’s approach to business. Dr. Anand’s diversity strategy ranges from grass roots involvement through employee network groups to executive engagement. One of her programs uses a sophisticated metrics system to implement a “diversity scorecard” linking managers’ diversity achievements to their annual compensation.

“It is such an honor to receive this award,” said Rohini Anand, senior vice president and global chief diversity officer for Sodexo, Inc. “Diversity and inclusion are a core part of Sodexo's business strategy as we focus on the needs of our global customers while fostering a work environment where all employees can succeed and provide innovative solutions. At Sodexo, we believe creating an inclusive environment is the right thing to do and it makes good business sense to help us lead in the market place. We look forward to continuing to partner with organizations such as the WTCI to advance forward this vision."
