Guests give iPad the once over; local restaurant allows free use of iPads while 'dining in'
Germantown, Md., July 7, 2010 — Every restaurant in town has free Wi-Fi these days; even Starbucks recently started granting customers free access in store, but Pandini's guests are getting a bonus…free use of an iPad while they dine. Starting today in the Germantown store, guests can use an iPad while in the store to peruse the newspaper, check email, traffic, weather, watch YouTube, read iBooks, and more. Pandini's, a fast-casual, family-friendly restaurant serving affordable fresh Italian cuisine, operates with a philosophy of creating unforgettable guest experiences and takes a customer-centric approach to creating products and services that meets the needs of the communities they serve.
"The iPad is the hottest piece of technology in 2010, so it's a great perk for our guests,” says Michael Hollen, vice president of operations, Pandini's. "Many of our guests come in and bring their computer, or have a newspaper. Now, if they are clamoring to try the iPad they can take one for a spin for free."
Pandini's, one of the fastest growing brands by Sodexo's retail restaurant development team, the Retail Brand Group, is committed to the communities they serve, having continued involvement in Germantown since they opened the Middlebrook Road location a year ago this month, including hunger-relief activities, youth sports sponsorships, and local event support.
"Being a leader in the community is part of what inspires us at Pandini's," says Erica Milios, senior director of brand development, Retail Brand Group. "As a concept, we develop flavors, products and services that may be outside the box – like free iPad use – but are in line with our vision of giving our guests what they want before they even know they want it, be a great meal, exceptional service, or a new way to take a break during the day."
"We are excited to see the innovative ways our guests find to use the iPads, from Facebook to using Apps to reading comics with their kids," adds Hollen.
The iPads will be available on a first-come-first-served basis and will require presentation of a photo i.d. before use. Guests under the age of 18 may borrow an iPad with an accompanying adult.
Pandini's takes old world Italian to a whole new level, serving a range of individual artisan pizzas, signature Labretti® sandwiches, salads, soups, pasta and more. The family-friendly restaurant is affordable with reasonably priced menu items.
