GAITHERSBURG, Md., November 5, 2007 - Sodexho, Inc., the nation's leading provider of integrated food and facilities management services, announced today Michael Montelongo, senior vice president, strategic marketing for Sodexho Inc., was named as one of Hispanic Business® magazine's 2007 "100 Most Influential Hispanics" in the U.S. for contributing to his profession and raising the standard for business.
Montelongo, the chief strategist leading North American planning and development for Sodexho, was specifically listed as one of the most influential Hispanics in the corporate category. Montelongo also served as a Congressional Fellow, and was an economics professor at his alma mater, West Point, while serving his country during a decorated military career. He also served in the telecom and consulting industries, and was appointed Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Air Force by President George W. Bush.
Established in 1979, Hispanic Business® magazine has been publishing its 100 Most Influential Hispanics list since 1983. Montelongo, who also appeared on the list in 2002, joins a notable list of politicians, entertainers, CEOs, doctors, lawyers, judges, scientists and fellow educators.
In compiling the list for 2007 - based on nominations from readers and visitors to the paper's web site, www.hispanicbusiness.com, and from editorial and research staff members - the editors of Hispanic Business said, “We look for people we think are having a great year now or who can expect a great year in 2008; people who are contributing to their communities or professions; people who are generally raising the bar in whatever they do.”
