SODEXHO ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF RICHARD MACEDONIA AS PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

GAITHERSBURG, MD - January 11, 2005 - Sodexho, Inc. the leading provider of food and facilities management in the US and Canada, announced today the appointment of Richard “Dick” Macedonia as the company's president and chief executive officer. Macedonia, who has served as president and chief operating officer of Sodexho since 2003, succeeds Michel Landel, who will become CEO of Sodexho's parent company, Sodexho Alliance NA, in September 2005.

“For more than 35 years, Dick Macedonia has been a key contributor to the success of our business in North America, and over the last two years he has done an outstanding job in his role as chief operating officer,” said Landel, who currently serves as president and chief operating officer of Sodexho Alliance. “I have every confidence that Dick and the entire executive team will continue to lead our North American operations with great success.”

In his role as president and CEO, Macedonia is responsible for overseeing all of the company's operating divisions, $5.8 billion in annual sales, and more than 6,000 clients. Macedonia is also a member of the Sodexho Alliance Executive Committee. Macedonia previously served as president of Sodexho's Health Care Services Division, managing sales in excess of $3.2 billion annually, and providing on-site department management services to over 1,400 health care facilities and systems in the US.

A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Macedonia began his career with the company in 1968 as a unit manager in the Campus Services Division, and joined Health Care Services in 1975. He held positions of increasing importance during his tenure with the division, rising to become the president of Health Care Services. Married for 36 years, Macedonia and his wife have four children.
