GAITHERSBURG, Md., October 2, 2009 – Tracy Kelly, director of strategic planning at Sodexo, was presented the Directors’ Leadership Award during the President’s Luncheon at the Society for Foodservice Management’s (SFM) 30th National Conference, held September 29 – October 2 in San Francisco. Kelly, who also chairs the SFM Women’s Council, has been a member of the organization since 2000.

The SFM Directors’ Awards were established in 2004 as a way to recognize members’ community participation, leadership, service and extended support of SFM. The Leadership Award recognizes an individual whose work on behalf of SFM and the on-site foodservice industry has resulted in the demonstration of outstanding leadership qualities. As chairperson of the Women’s Council, Kelly’s role is to support and extend the overall objectives of SFM within the foodservice industry, and to promote professional development, mentoring and advancement of women members.

“I am honored to receive this recognition, and proud of Sodexo’s long-standing support of the goals of SFM,” said Kelly. “SFM is committed to finding ways to enhance the success and professionalism of its members.”  Kelly was one of seven outstanding SFM members to be recognized for their service and dedication during the national conference.

“We congratulate Tracy Kelly for her hard work to improve the advancement of women through the Women’s Council, and for her tremendous support of SFM programs and initiatives,” said Mark Bickford, a member of the SFM board of directors.

The Society for Foodservice Management is the preeminent national association serving the needs and interests of executives in the on-site foodservice industry. Its principal role is to enhance the ability of its members to achieve career and business objectives in an ethical, responsible and professional climate.
