Sodexo to sponsor the National Job Corps Association (NJCA) 45th Anniversary event on September 23, 2009
GAITHERSBURG, Md., August 4, 2009 — Sodexo, Inc., a leading integrated food and facilities management services company providing comprehensive service solutions, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the National Job Corps Association (NJCA) 45th Anniversary event to be held on September 23, 2009.
Job Corps Day: 45 Years of Building Lives and Launching Careers will celebrate the impact Job Corps has had on the lives of nearly three million young people and its active role in American communities for the past 45 years. The nationwide celebration will include activities in Washington, D.C. and 122 additional communities across the U.S. that have a Job Corps center.
Sodexo’s sponsorship of the anniversary event will help Job Corps enhance the impact of the commemorative activities taking place nationwide. Sodexo provides food services to five Job Corps sites nationwide and recently participated in the annual Job Corps Culinary Expo in Philadelphia, where youth ages 16-24 were able to showcase their culinary skills from their Job Corps training to potential employers.
“Partnering with Job Corps once again is a great honor, just as it is an honor to hire the young talent that they train,” says President of Government Services, Greg Verone. “We are pleased to be a part of this milestone event and value their commitment to making every day a better day by serving our nation’s youth for 45 years.”
As part of its corporate citizenship commitments, Sodexo supports the future and health of America’s youth, additionally supporting the Armed Services YMCA, the Marine Corps Marathon’s Healthy Kids Fun Run, and as International Sponsor of Youth Sports for the Marine Corps Community Services.
