Sodexo announced today the appointment of General (Retired) Lester Lyles, former Commander of Air Force Material Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio to its Business Advisory Board.

GAITHERSBURG, Md., September 11, 2008 — Sodexo, Inc., a leading food and facilities management services company, announced today the appointment of General (Retired) Lester Lyles, former Commander of Air Force Material Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio to its Business Advisory Board, a group of respected leaders, academicians and entrepreneurs who make recommendations to guide the company’s operations in North America.

A senior executive with over 26 years of experience running large, high-technology companies, General Lyles has a demonstrated record in effectively communicating with people, quality improvement and optimizing revenue/costs. General Lyles has been responsible for executing 40 billion dollars annually and managing 82,000 personnel in operational locations throughout the United States. Among his direct experiences is diversity recruitment where he directed the first “Diversity Summit” that established a strategic plan to address the issue. He established increased USAF involvement in Historically Black and Hispanic Colleges and personally committed to speak and mentor at forums, conventions and symposia focused on minorities.
