GAITHERSBURG, Md., April 21, 2008- Sodexo has once again been recognized for its leadership role in leveraging diversity to provide innovative solutions that make every day a better day for employees, customers, and clients. The company has earned a spot on DiversityInc's Top 50 Companies for Diversity® list for the fourth year, ranking number 12 on the list among 352 companies that were considered. Furthermore, Sodexo ranked in DiversityInc’s Top 10 Specialty list: Recruitment & Retention (#3); People with Disabilities (#6); African Americans (#9); and Latinos (#9).
“We benchmark in order to better understand the areas we need to improve,” adds Dr. Rohini Anand, Senior Vice President and Global Chief Diversity Officer. “DiversityInc helps Sodexo measure our progress yearly. We are grateful for the accomplishments, but we also understand greater accomplishments are ahead. ”
The Top 50 Companies for Diversity list is determined entirely by a statistical analysis of responses to a 200-question survey. The Top 50 companies demonstrate consistent strength in four areas: CEO Commitment, Human Capital, Corporate and Organizational Communications, and Supplier Diversity. Now in its eighth year, DiversityInc's Top 50 Companies for Diversity list is the largest competition of its kind.
“Top 50 companies have clarity of their absolute values of human dignity, demonstrating a global adherence to these core beliefs,” said Luke Visconti, Partner and Co-founder of DiversityInc. “These sustainable values drive margin.”
Sodexho's success in leveraging the strength of its diverse workforce is demonstrated through its many awards and recognition - more than 25 earned in 2007 and seven so far in 2008. The awards this year include, “Best Diversity Program” by ERE Media, “Top US Companies for Asian Pacific Americans” by Asian Enterprise Magazine, and the “Corporate Equality Index and Best Places to Work-100 Rating” by the Human Rights Campaign.
