Sodexo Donates 100,000 Euros (nearly $145,000) to benefit Earthquake Victims in Haiti

Issy-les-Moulineaux, January 15, 2010 – Sodexo, world leader in Quality of Daily Life Solutions, would like to help the victims of the devastating earthquake which took place this week in Haiti. This effort is being undertaken in solidarity with Group employees originally from Haiti who have been touched by this disaster and as part of our broader commitment to local communities.

Michel Landel, CEO of the Group and President of STOP Hunger, a program which contributes to the fight against hunger and malnutrition in countries where the Group is present, has thus decided that Sodexo will donate 100,000 euros (US $ 144,860). This money will be donated through our STOP Hunger program to the World Food Programme (WFP), a United Nations organization that will be able to put these funds to immediate and coordinated good use.

STOP Hunger
Founded by Michel Landel in 1996, the STOP Hunger program contributes to fighting hunger and malnutrition in the countries where the Group operates. It is based on four areas of action: volunteering, sharing our expertise, food donations and financial donations. In 2009, 362 initiatives were led in 29 countries.
