Award given to an outstanding leader in advancing gender diversity
GAITHERSBURG, Md., March 5, 2009 – Dr. Rohini Anand, senior vice president and global chief diversity officer for Sodexo, Inc., a leading integrated food and facilities management services company, will receive the 2009 Trailblazer Award from the Women’s Foodservice Forum (WFF) at the group’s annual leadership development conference in Dallas, Texas, March 15-18, 2009.
The WFF, the industry’s premier professional development organization with more than 3,500 members, gives the Trailblazer Award to an organizational executive who publicly supports and actively advances gender diversity within his or her organization and the foodservice industry, as well as creating and implementing new pathways for women at all levels. “Dr. Anand stands as a true role model for our industry,” said Linda Pharr, WFF chair and interim president. “The award recognizes her accomplishments, contributions and continued support of elevating women leaders.”
“Dr. Rohini Anand pioneered benchmark-level diversity and inclusion strategies and initiatives,” said Sodexo, Inc. President and CEO George Chavel. “These strengthen Sodexo's value to all our stakeholders and provide models for other companies that share our commitment and vision.”
Among the initiatives credited to Dr. Anand’s leadership are:
