Sodexo Announces New, Expanded Three-Year Agreement with VHA for Food Service and Facilities Management

Contract includes expanded role for Sodexo’s Quality of Life solutions for more than 1,400 not-for-profit veterans hospitals and 23,000 non-acute care organizations
Gaithersburg, MD – October 1, 2008 – Sodexo Health Care Services, a division of Sodexo, Inc., announced today a new and expanded contract with VHA, a national health care alliance that provides industry-leading supply chain management services and supports the formation of regional and national networks to help members improve their clinical and economic performance. The new agreement includes food service, environmental services, operations and maintenance, laundry and linen services, patient transport and infrastructure renewal over the next three years.
Sodexo, a leading food service and facilities management company, has been serving the VHA since 1997. Since that time the relationship has expanded from 175 services at 135 VHA member hospitals to more than 300 services in over 220 VHA member hospitals that have chosen Sodexo as their provider of Quality of Life services.

Under the new agreement, VHA hospitals can partner with Sodexo to drive improvements in the patient experience; positively impacting satisfaction, employee retention and operational improvements.
Sodexo was named supplier of the year by VHA in 2007 as well as 2002 and 2005, in recognition of its efforts for ‘providing the greatest support and commitment in helping members achieve their supply chain goals.’ Sodexo was also presented with VHA’s supplier excellent award, based on exemplary Member Satisfaction Survey results. Overall satisfaction with Sodexo was 88 percent, with one third of clients in the system responding with Perfect 10 scores in overall satisfaction.
